US military aid will reach Ukraine less than a week after Congress votes. The American newspaper The Washington Post writes about it with reference to its sources.
The Pentagon already has "massive military aid for Ukraine ready to be used," US officials told the newspaper. According to them, the aid package began to be formed a long time ago.
The source, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that once the $95 billion foreign aid bill is signed into law, "it will take less than a week for some of the weapons to reach the battlefield." The bill includes about $60 billion for Ukraine, with the rest earmarked for Israel and US partners in Asia.
The publication writes that the first package will almost certainly contain shells, including the standard 155 mm used in NATO-style howitzers, and ammunition for other medium-range artillery.
It is also possible that the Pentagon will provide Ukraine with a new tranche of equipment and ammunition for air defense.
