"Kyivstar" officially confirmed the hacker attack. Personal data is not compromised
"On the morning of December 12, Kyivstar's communication network became the target of a powerful hacker attack, which caused a technical failure, as a result of which communication and Internet access services were temporarily unavailable." — reported in the press service of the Suspilno company.
It is reported that in order to record the circumstances and consequences of illegal actions regarding interference in the activities of the Kyivstar network, the operator involved representatives of law enforcement agencies and special state services, who are currently working in the company's office.
"As of now, it is known that personal data of subscribers has not been compromised. Currently, the operator's specialists are working to eliminate the consequences of the hacker attack in order to restore communication and provide services as soon as possible." - said in the statement.
The failure of "Kyivstar" will partially affect the operation of some terminals and ATMs of "PrivatBank" — mass media with reference to the bank's representative.
"Some part of all banks, ATMs and POS terminals work on mobile cards. For terminals that work on Kyivstar cards, of course, this problem affects their work."
Deputy Prime Minister Kubrakov said that "Kyivstar" will resume work in four to five hours.
