The White House suggested that US automakers begin a massive reduction in vehicles with internal combustion engines.
US President Joe Biden announced a plan to reduce the number of new cars with gasoline and diesel engines by 40% by 2030, and completely by 2035. At the moment, the office of the White House is conducting negotiations with automobile manufacturers. So, for example, in General Motors they say that all discussions are at the initial stage and no points of contact have yet been found.
In fact, the USA is following exactly the same path as the European Union, which by 2035 will completely ban the sale of internal combustion engines on its territory. The ban will be strengthened by strict norms of environmental standards, so that it will be simply unprofitable for car manufacturers to create such cars.
