New explosions in Energodar: there is a threat of an uncontrolled nuclear disaster

The occupiers are actively shelling the temporarily captured Energodar, where the Zaporizhia NPP is located. Since the beginning of the occupation of the city, about half of the residents have left.

According to Yana Dabizh, the head of affairs of the Energodar City Council, the employees of Rosatom, who were at the nuclear power plant, left it the day before. Ukrainian NPP workers remain to ensure its operation.

"The nuclear power plant cannot be turned off or stopped, so the personnel servicing it must remain there 24/7," Dabizha emphasized.

The mayor of the city, Dmytro Orlov, predicts that the number of people willing to leave the city will increase. After all, there is still a nuclear and radiation threat in the city.

"This may be the next step to a more acute problem with the specialists who service the NPP. We already have an outflow of specialists who do not believe that their safety will be guaranteed if they continue to work at the station," explained the mayor of Energodar.

It will be recalled that on August 5, Russian troops fired twice in the direction of the Zaporizhzhia NPP. At 14.30:330 p.m., three explosions were recorded near the industrial site of the station. The enemy got into the high-voltage communication line of XNUMX kV VRP of the autotransformer of the ZNPP – Zaporizhzhya TPP.

In the evening, the invaders shelled the Zaporizhzhya NPP for the second time, three hits were recorded on the site of the station.

According to Energoatom, as of the morning of August 6, the ZNPP is operating with the risk of violating radiation and fire safety standards. Enemy fire caused serious damage to the nitrogen-oxygen station and the combined support corps.

There remain risks of hydrogen leakage and sputtering of radioactive substances, as well as a high fire hazard.
