Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov stated that the war with Russia could end in one of three scenarios:
— another series of "goodwill gestures" by the Russians, as was the case in the north of Ukraine and on Zmiiny Island. The scenario envisages Ukraine's exit to the borders by February 24, and then negotiations on the status of the occupied regions of Donbass and Crimea will probably begin with the assistance of international partners;
— gradual struggle and strikes on the most painful places of the Russian army with the help of modern weapons. "We cannot fight with them on the principle of "meat grinder for meat grinder". In addition, our partners would not be able to support us under such circumstances," the minister emphasized;
— the "parade of sovereignties" in Russia and the disintegration of the country. "This is the longest scenario, but we will definitely see it in our lifetime," Reznikov clarified.
He also noted that in order to create security guarantees for Ukraine, it is necessary to proceed according to the principle of creating new defense alliances. "We see that, thanks to Brexit, Great Britain is not bound by the positions of various members of the European Union. We have fantastic relations with the Baltic countries, I applaud our relations with Poland, until recently we were told that Ukraine's participation in the Three Seas project was impossible, now it has become a reality," said Reznikov.
This was stated by Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov during the conference Forbes "We build together."
