North Korean leader Kim Jong-un inspected the DPRK's Nuclear Weapons Institute and ordered to increase the production of nuclear weapons. This was reported by the Korean Central Telegraph Agency on March 28.
The head of the DPRK called for "perfect" readiness to use nuclear weapons "at any time and in any place."
"Kim Jong-un said that it is necessary to give impetus to the continuous production of nuclear weapons, and the Institute of Nuclear Weapons and workers in the field of atomic energy should prospectively expand the production of nuclear raw materials suitable for the creation of weapons, in order to consistently implement the plan of the Central Committee of the Party to increase the stockpile of nuclear weapons in geometric progression," says the article of the Central Committee of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
According to the leader of North Korea, if Pyongyang has a powerful and superior nuclear force, "the enemy will be afraid and will not dare to encroach on the state sovereignty, system and people" of the country.
"If we are fully prepared to use our nuclear weapons at any moment, then nuclear weapons will never be used," he emphasized.
At the same time, Kim Jong-un claims that the DPRK's nuclear weapons are "not directed against other countries", and that the enemy of the country's nuclear forces is "the war itself and the nuclear disaster in general".
On March 18-19, North Korea conducted exercises simulating a tactical nuclear counterattack.
