Will this year's utility tariffs be increased: Shmyhal gave an answer

There are enough funds in local budgets

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal is sure that there are enough funds in local budgets to support their utility companies and not to raise tariffs for the population this year. That's what he's about said at the government meeting on Friday, July 14.

According to the Prime Minister, the total amount of subventions to the regions this year amounted to 92 billion hryvnias. A significant increase is observed in the revenues of local budgets. In the first half of 2023, the general fund received about 218 billion hryvnias. The head of the government noted that these figures are UAH 42,5 billion higher than last year in the same period.

"Fund balances in the accounts of local budgets and budget institutions have already amounted to UAH 170 billion. That is, there are enough funds on the ground, including to support our own utility companies and not to raise tariffs now," the prime minister added.
