"These are unprofessional and useless statements," Hodges said when asked about Western criticism of the Ukrainian offensive.
"The counteroffensive is not only what we see on the battlefield," Hodges emphasized, explaining that the Ukrainian army is now conducting multi-component complex operations involving special units, drones and cyber forces.
The American general also called the work of the Armed Forces of Ukraine impressive in destroying the military capabilities of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.
"Unfortunately, Ukrainians will continue to suffer great losses because we, the West, have not provided them with the necessary opportunities. And I'm talking about high-precision, long-range weapons," said Hodges in an interview with "Voice of America" at the end of August.
Hodges emphasized that the counteroffensive in Ukraine is not only military action on the battlefield, but also complex operations, including special forces, drone attacks, cyber warfare and the deactivation of Russian radars and air defense systems. The general also expressed his impression of the work of the Ukrainian military in relation to the Black Sea Fleet, which creates significant pressure on the Russian General Staff.
The general reminded that Ukrainians have to fight without the support of aviation, which, according to him, would always be an integral part of military operations for such countries as the USA, Great Britain and Germany. In addition, the publication, with reference to experts, adds that in the event of the participation of the American army in such an operation, aviation support would be used to destroy the enemy's defensive fortifications long before the introduction of ground troops.
