The counteroffensive of the Armed Forces will begin in a few weeks, and its main task will be to isolate the occupied Crimea. Should Ukraine have so zealously defended Bakhmut? "The Ukrainian military will launch an offensive on 'a very narrow stretch of the southern front to penetrate Russian defenses, reach the Sea of Azov, cut the land corridor and begin isolating the peninsula,'" General Ben Hodges.
After that, Hodges believes, with the help of HIMARS installations and other high-precision long-range weapons, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will begin to hit Sevastopol and other important enemy objects on the peninsula.
"This is the beginning of the end for the Russians in Crimea," he said.
The general notes that with the implementation of such a plan, Ukraine can win the war against the occupiers by the end of this year, if the Western partners transfer the necessary weapons to the Armed Forces.
