Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal declares that the "Affordable Mortgage" program will start working in Ukraine on October 1, 2022 for four categories of citizens:
- The first is contract servicemen and employees of the security and defense sector
- The second category is doctors.
- The third is teachers and pedagogical workers.
- The fourth category is scientists.
According to him, the mortgage rate for all these categories of citizens will be 3%, the mortgage term will be up to 20 years, and the minimum down payment will be 20% of the housing cost.
"We want the country to develop now. Therefore, today the government is taking the first, but very important, step to implement the initiative of President Volodymyr Zelenskyi – the affordable mortgage program for Ukrainian families. Currently, during the meeting, the government will approve the conditions for providing affordable mortgage lending for the Ukrfinzhitlo state company," Shmyhal said.
According to Shmyhal, next year the program will work for all Ukrainians who need to improve living conditions.
"The rate will also be preferential and will be only 7% per annum," the head of government concluded.
