The day before yesterday, China successfully launched a carrier rocket with the Chang'e-5 apparatus to the moon. This is reported by CGTN.
So, the Chang'e-5 mission is the last and most complex of the six missions of the lunar exploration program developed by Chinese scientists 20 years ago.
Its main purpose is the collection of soil samples from the Moon and their subsequent delivery to Earth. To be more precise, the mission should deliver at least 2 kilograms of stones and soil from the Moon.
It is noted that the biggest problem in the mission is to return the samples to Earth. So, after the robotic lunar landing module collects the samples, they are placed in the apparatus, which is launched from the surface of the Moon and must meet and dock with the orbital apparatus, which requires very accurate timing. If the orbiter or the sampler deviates a short distance, they will miss docking. When the orbiter approaches the Earth, the sample capsule will be released and land in the same area where the Shenzhou astronauts landed.
