The Administration of Seaports of Ukraine has begun work on dredging in the water area of the Belgorod-Dniester seaport, primarily near the Zatok bridge.
As the press service of the Administration reports, these works will allow the necessary sediment to be returned to the shallow part of the port's approach channel.
They want to finish the work before the end of this year.
"Operational dredging on the channel is carried out by our own forces with the help of the stationary dredging projectile "Dneprovsky-5" with a floating slurry pipeline and anchor breeder "MZ-1" of the branch "Dredging Fleet" of the State Enterprise "AMPU". "Dneprovsky-5" will be "fastened" to the Dniester-Limansky approach channel, and regular dredging will allow to restore and maintain the declared depths," the AMPU reported.
It should be noted that in order not to disturb the ecosystem of the region, experts waited for the completion of spawning of fish living in the estuary.
