In Ukraine, in a month, the occupancy of beds for patients with the coronavirus disease COVID-19 may be 100%, if people do not comply with the quarantine rules.
Health Minister Maksym Stepanov said this during the briefing.
"If we don't follow the (quarantine — ed.) rules, I'll tell you now what will happen: we can get 100% occupancy of our beds in a month. What will happen next? If we get 100% bed occupancy? It's just that there will be nowhere to receive patients in hospitals. In this case, the help will not be provided precisely in the conditions of the hospital. To people who need oxygen, who need ventilators...", Stepanov said.
Therefore, according to him, it is important to implement the new restrictions that were introduced by the government at the suggestion of the Ministry of Health.
