The first case of monkeypox was confirmed in Ukraine.
"On September 15, the first case of monkey pox was laboratory confirmed in Ukraine. Currently, the patient has been taken to a medical institution for inpatient treatment, he has a mild course of the disease," the press service of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine reported on Facebook.
The patient stated that he had no contact with people sick with smallpox and did not travel abroad.
Among the symptoms of the disease, he has a high temperature, a rash on his body.
The disease was diagnosed using a PCR test. An epidemiological investigation is being conducted.
