In Odessa, the Family Health Center was opened at Zooparkova Street 8a, which is part of the clinical and diagnostic center No. 6. This was reported by the press service of the mayor.
The uniqueness of the Family Health Center lies in the fact that it is the first outpatient institution in the south of Ukraine, designed for complex prevention and early diagnosis of breast diseases in women, men and adolescents.
"The opening of the Family Health Center in Odessa will make prevention and timely diagnosis of cancer patients even more accessible to Odessa residents. This will reduce the mortality rate from malignant tumors, preserve the life and health of the city's residents," said Odessa Mayor Gennady Trukhanov.
The Family Health Center has a mammologist, oncologist, gynecologist, neurologist, surgeon and an equipped operating room.
Capital repairs were carried out in the premises of the center at the expense of the city budget, and comfortable conditions for receiving patients were created.
"The breast health center, which previously worked in our institution under Marshal Govorov, was very popular among the residents of Odessa. Since 2011, about 200 thousand people have been examined and treated here. However, due to the large number of patients, the queue for mammography appointment sometimes had to wait for several months. Today, thanks to the opening of the new Family Health Center, the problem of waiting has been solved. The available mammographic equipment will allow patients to be quickly provided with affordable and high-quality diagnostics," noted the director of KDC No. 6 Lyudmila Antipova.
A feature of the center is modern medical equipment: two Italian-made mammographs, one of which was purchased thanks to the "Public Budget" social project.
Also, a modern ultrasound machine, colposcopes, other medical equipment and furniture were purchased for the Family Health Center. The laboratory provides a wide range of hormonal and immunological research.
"Expendable materials for mammography are purchased from the funds of the city budget of Odessa within the framework of the municipal program "Health". All Odessa women over 40 years old can undergo mammography free of charge as directed by their family doctor," emphasized Lyudmila Antipova.
The work of the Family Health Center is aimed at the prevention of oncological diseases in women, men and adolescents, as well as the detection of oncopathology in the initial stages, when treatment is most effective.
