Another new strain of the COVID-19 coronavirus was discovered in Great Britain, which was brought to the country from South Africa.
This was reported by British Health Minister Matt Hancock.
"This new species causes concern because it is transmitted more intensively, and it has mutated more strongly than the strain previously discovered in Britain," Western media quoted Hancock as saying.
The minister also reported that Britain is suspending the reception of flights from South Africa.
It was previously reported that, according to the British public health service, a new strain of the virus discovered in the southeast of England back in September is 70% more contagious than other types of COVID-19. However, there is still no evidence that it is more deadly.
