Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal promises that Ukraine will be provided with the necessary amount of safe vaccines against the coronavirus infection.
"Ukraine will be provided with the required number of safe vaccines and this will happen within the time that was planned," Shmyhal said at the plenary session of the Verkhovna Rada on Tuesday
He reported that within the framework of the global initiative Covax, Ukraine will receive from 8 to 16 million doses within a year. vaccines "Ukraine handed over all the necessary documents for obtaining vaccines to the so-called first wave. We are waiting for Covax's decision by February 100st... and in case of a positive decision, we will receive 200 to XNUMX thousand Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines in February," said Shmyhal.
The head of government reminded that on December 30, 2020, Ukraine signed an agreement on the purchase of vaccines from the Sinovac company. According to him, the amount of the contract is UAH 964 million, the amount of vaccines provided by him is 1 million 913 thousand doses.
"The delivery schedule is 30 days after the registration of the vaccine in the country of the producer. Last week, this vaccine was approved for use in Brazil, where clinical trials were conducted. Accordingly, approximately in three, maximum four weeks, we expect the first batch in the amount of 700 doses of this manufacturer's vaccine," Shmygal clarified.
As previously reported, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi said that vaccination against the coronavirus infection in Ukraine will begin in February 2021.
