The French government introduced new restrictions in four more cities of the country with a high level of spread of the coronavirus. This is reported by the BBC.
Thus, the cities of Lyon, Lille, Grenoble and Saint-Etienne will be declared cities on high alert from Saturday. Bars and restaurants in them will be closed, as it already happened in Paris at the beginning of this week. In addition, a similar decision was made in Marseille last month.
Such measures were introduced against the background of a record 18 new cases of coronavirus per day. Hospitals in the Paris region already went into emergency mode on Thursday — there, patients with the coronavirus occupied almost half of the beds in the intensive care units.
