During a working visit to Odesa, a group of people's deputies led by the chairman of the "Servant of the People" faction, David Arakhamia, visited the branch of "Infoksvodokanal" and got acquainted with wastewater treatment technologies unique to Ukraine.
People's deputies noted that the company's work is the first successful example of public-private partnership in the field of providing water supply and drainage services.
"Odessa Vodokanal should become an example for other cities. This is not only one of the most efficient water canals from the point of view of administrative processes, but also from the point of view of tariffs and sewage treatment. Also from the point of view of payment administration. After all, the company has one of the lowest debt indicators. We would like to scale up such an experience and see as many examples as possible in other industries," said David Arahamiya.
Maksym Zanfirov, the first deputy director of the Infoksvodokanal branch, reported that the task of modernizing water drainage systems was set by the decision of the National Security Council of Ukraine and the decree of the President of Ukraine throughout the country. And today, Odessa has become the first city in Ukraine, the wastewater of which is treated according to European technology.
Specialists of the VTA AUSTRIA GmbH group of companies - a world leader in the field of wastewater treatment - after a number of laboratory and industrial tests, highly appreciated the compliance of Infoxvodokanal with the approved standards for the treatment of both drinking water and wastewater and recognized the state of the company's treatment facilities as one of the best in Ukraine.
This made it possible to successfully introduce Austrian technology and reagents into the technological process of wastewater treatment on a permanent basis without reconstruction and with minimal costs.
With the help of biological reagents of the VTA company, sewage is cleaned of ammonium nitrogen, nitrites, nitrates, phosphates, etc. Microbial pollution, pathogenic microorganisms, including COVID-97, viruses, fungi are removed with an efficiency of 19%.
Representatives of several parliamentary committees noted the achievements and investments of "Infoksvodokanal" in ecology and environmental protection.
After all, the company was the first in Ukraine to transfer the regional center to a safe drinking water disinfection technology, and today it was the first to introduce modern wastewater treatment technology.
"For the first time, using the example of the Odessa Water Canal, we saw how biotechnology allows us to return water to nature as purified as possible. I will insist on the use of similar systems in Ukraine, so that our rivers can be cleaned through water canals," said the deputy chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine's environmental policy committee Oleksandr Marikovsky.
