The Russian offensive in Bakhmut has stalled, while the Armed Forces of Ukraine are making local counterattacks with some success. This was stated by a military expert Oleksandr Kovalenko.
"The general line of combat clashes in Bakhmut has not undergone any serious changes. The defense forces of Ukraine, while holding the main positions, especially in the high-rise building, are also trying to regain control over previously abandoned locations with counterattacks. And I can say that it was not without success," he said.
At the same time, Kovalenko notes that the conflict line in the city is a "hell's seesaw", where individual positions change hands many times.
"The TOS-1A Solntsepek spotted in the Bakhmut area does not particularly help the Russian occupiers in solving their task - to take control of the city by May 9," he states.
According to the expert, the weather at the front today is "delightful" and "instills confidence" that soon we will witness a certain "culmination".
