On November 20, the first of seven contracted DTEK vessels with coal from the USA and Colombia arrived in Ukraine. The "Panamax" class ship docked in the "Yuzhny" port. This was reported in the press service of DTEK Energo.
To date, DTEK has agreed with international suppliers to import seven shiploads of coal to Ukraine, of which five deliveries of coal are from the USA and two deliveries are from Colombia. The volume of each court lot is from 40 to 75 thousand. t. The total volume of contractual supplies, provided for covering the needs of Ukrainian TPPs, amounts to almost 470 thousand t.
The volume of the first delivery was 60,5 thousand. t.
It is expected that all legal parties will arrive in Ukraine during November - January. The next batch is expected at the end of November, four in December and one in January. All of them are intended for the needs of TPP DTEK Energo.
In addition to ship deliveries, the company imports coal from Poland. In August, DTEK Energo signed two agreements for the supply of a total of 340 tons of thermal coal from Poland. Also, in September-October, the company imported coal from Kazakhstan. Thus, to date, the total volume of already contracted gas coal from Poland, the USA and Kazakhstan has amounted to about 0,9 million tons. The company is not stopping there and is negotiating for additional volumes of imported coal. Only in September-October, DTEK Energo imported a total of more than 356 tons of coal
Import of coal for the company is a temporary measure to cover the fuel deficit, while the use of coal from Ukrainian production remains a priority. During January-October of this year, 13,7 million tons of "G" grade coal were mined at the mines of DTEK Energo and 23 new pits were put into operation. In total, this year the company plans to produce about 17 million tons of gas coal.
