On September 1, Ukraine will increase the minimum pension for a number of categories. This was reported by the Pension Fund of Ukraine.
The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed Law of Ukraine No. 822 "On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine" On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2020", which the Verkhovna Rada adopted at an extraordinary session on August 25, 2020, according to which the minimum wage was increased from September 1 from 4723 to 5000 hryvnias
This change is the basis for increasing the minimum age pension for non-working pensioners who have reached the age of 65 and have insurance experience: 35 years for men and 30 years for women.
Thus, the minimum amount of pension for pensioners who have full insurance experience will increase from UAH 1889,20. (4723 hryvnias x 40%) to 2000 hryvnias. (5000 hryvnias x 40%).
Pensions were recalculated for 1,6 million pensioners. They will start receiving it in new sizes from September 2020.
For working pensioners, the recalculation of pensions using the new minimum wage indicator is carried out after dismissal from work or termination of their entrepreneurial activity.
