Following gas, the government included electricity in the list of socially significant goods for state regulation

The relevant decision is contained in Resolution No. 64 dated February 1, 2021

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine included electricity in the list of socially significant goods for state regulation, approved by Resolution No. 341 of April 22, 2020.

The relevant decision is contained in resolution No. 64 dated February 1, 2021 "Issues of providing compensation to certain categories of e/e consumers", the text of which is published on the government portal.

Earlier, on January 18, 2021, the Cabinet of Ministers included natural gas in the list of socially significant goods in order to be able to set a maximum price for it during the quarantine period.

As reported, at a meeting on January 20, the government approved the allocation of UAH 1,4 billion to provide compensation for electricity consumed in the first quarter of 2021 due to the cancellation of certain reduced tariffs for certain categories of consumers (except those who have subsidies).

In particular, we are talking about residents of houses with electric heating installations, which as of December 31, 2020 had the right to a reduced tariff; residents of non-gasified multi-apartment buildings and buildings without centralized heating, who were entitled to a reduced tariff as of December 31, 2020; multi-child and foster families, family-type children's homes.

The compensation will cover the difference in the cost of consumed electricity, which arose due to the cancellation of reduced tariffs and the application of a fixed price for household consumers.

By Resolution No. 1325 dated December 28, 2020, the Government introduced a single fixed tariff for household consumers in the amount of UAH 1,68/kWh (with VAT) for the period from January 1 to March 31 and thereby canceled the preferential tariff for the population in the amount of 0,9. UAH 100/kWh for the first XNUMX kWh of monthly consumption, as well as other preferential tariffs.

The National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Communal Services (NKREKU) by Resolution No. 15 dated January 6, 2021, repealed its previous Resolution No. 220 dated February 26, 2015, which established preferential electricity tariffs for the population living in houses with electric heating systems. In particular, during the seasonal period from October 1 to April 31, inclusive, household consumers using electric heating paid electricity at the price of UAH 0,9/kWh for a consumption of up to 3 UAH. kWh per month and 1,68 UAH/kWh - over 3 thousand kWh
