Environmental habits — fashion or necessity?

In fact, many eco-habits are much simpler, do not require new investments and contribute to economy

Over the past 5 years, the topic of ecology has confidently taken its place on the podium of fashion trends. Does this mean that our life has become more ecological, and our consumption has become more conscious?

Many eco-advice hide hidden advertising.

Behind the mission to save the planet, marketers often hide a simple call to buy.

"Buy a bamboo toothbrush from us! Buy reusable grocery bags! Buy a glass tube for drinks!"

Not only that they offer us to change our way of life, but they also ask for a good sum for it...

In fact, many eco-habits are much simpler, do not require new investments and contribute to economy.

Another problem of environmental recommendations is the call for radical measures.

Recently, I read an article in which the following are recommended as ecological habits:

  1. Give up meat.
  2. Do things with your own hands.
  3. Trees are planted.
  4. Create an invention that will help preserve nature in the future. (?!)

All these recommendations are useful in their essence, but people are not ready to turn their lives upside down. Such appeals can only frighten people who do not want to fall into the "green cabal".

It is much more logical to offer ways to preserve the environment that:

  • Save your money
  • They do not require time
  • Requires minimal effort

In this way, it is possible to make eco-habits truly popular.

Let's define the simplest guide to actions.

  1. Water. Turn off the faucet when washing dishes or brushing teeth. In the process of washing dishes, thinking about the meaning of life, a few extra liters of water escape. But you wash more than one plate. And not once a day. If you turn off the faucet, it will save the planet several liters of water. And you will save some money.
  • World Full illumination often reigns in the house. Do not forget to turn off the lights in rooms where no one is. Also, you should not turn on the TV "for background" while you are reading the news or browsing Instagram. The electricity you spend to create the background is not worth it.
  • things Do not neglect the traditions of older relatives. Exhausted, unusable things can be used as rags. Thus, you kill two birds with one stone: you save on buying new rags, you don't waste time looking for a place to sell unsuitable things.
  • Plastic. Contrary to the new-fashioned rag bags, you can use plastic ones that were hanging in your closet at home. When leaving the house, just grab one of them. The package takes up little space, but it prevents you from buying an extra portion of plastic.

Such "little things" can save you an average of 400-500 UAH per month, if desired, even more.

The magic lies in the fact that these tips apply to our routine habits.

We brush our teeth, wash the dishes, turn on the lights, clean up, use the bags every day. And sometimes even several times a day.

The strength of these tips is that they not only require a minimum of effort from you, but also save you money and time, and also contribute to reducing environmental pollution!

Saving the planet is not a super-task that requires investment, effort and time.

Saving the planet means turning off the light and water in a timely manner.

Remember, the heroes of our time don't wear raincoats, they just go to the store with their package.
