The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine supported the bill on biological parentage in the event of the death of a soldier. It will allow the storage of frozen reproductive cells of fallen soldiers for three years. People's deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak reported this Telegram.
Draft law No. 10448 was supported by 264 people's deputies. The document was adopted as a whole.
What does the draft law propose?
1. In the event of the death or recognition of death of a person whose reproductive cells are stored, in accordance with this Law, their storage is carried out free of charge within 3 years from the moment of the death of this person, and after the expiration of this period, further storage of such cells can be extended for the account of another person specified in the person's order regarding his own reproductive cells.
2. A natural person, whose reproductive cells are stored in accordance with the law, has the right to dispose of them in the event of his death.
3. In the case of using the reproductive cells of a person who made the appropriate order in the event of his death for the conception of a child, this natural person is recognized as the father or mother of the child born in this way;
4. To establish that a person's declaration of will, made and certified by a notary, prior to the entry into force of this Law regarding one's own reproductive cells, is the basis for the use of assisted reproductive technologies using these reproductive cells.
