Prosecutors of the Odesa region sent an indictment against a citizen of a neighboring country and a resident of Kiev for importing, storing and selling counterfeit foreign currency.
According to the investigation, a 25-year-old citizen of the Russian Federation and a 26-year-old ex-employee of law enforcement agencies from Kyiv were selling fake US dollars imported from Turkey on the territory of Ukraine.
This was reported in the press service of the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office.
"Law enforcement officers have documented the sale of counterfeit 1000 dollars by dealers," the message says.
It is interesting that the Russian is included in the NSDO sanctions list as a threat to the national interests and security of Ukraine.
At the same time, the prosecutor's office notes that an indictment on suspicion of hooliganism is already pending against him.
As a reminder, in July, Odessa law enforcement officers detained two men on suspicion of selling fake US dollars, which were identified as genuine by banknote checking devices.
For this crime, the suspect faces from 5 to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.
