The volunteer is outraged by the latest decisions of the Odesa city and regional councils regarding the costs of repairing the Kiev District Court of Odesa for 106 million hryvnias and the building of the Young Spectator Theater for 33 million hryvnias.
"The tender was not canceled by the court. And a new tender for the repair of the TYUZ for 31 million hryvnias has already arrived. ... Please look into the eyes of the guys from the 126th brigade who died in the last two weeks," writes Kateryna Nozhevnikova.
According to her, the fund constantly receives a lot of requests from the military for drones, cars and medical assistance. The Odesa brigades constantly collect and buy what they need with their own funds and funds collected for them throughout the country. And at this time, "their money is being spent on all this under the pathetic words "we are doing everything here for the sake of victory".
"The state received about 140 billion hryvnias from the salaries of the military over the last year. Of them, 15 billion hryvnias. was spent on military aid. And the same amount was spent on roads. Only the Odesa City Council allocated UAH 505 million for road works. The price of the lives of our defenders today is less than the price of repairing a courthouse or a theater..., - the volunteer writes, - It was a shame to see the arguments of our deputies. It is shameful to look the military in the eye, and it is not at all clear how to explain to people why they should give their last funds to help the military, when we have the opportunity to "renovate courts, theaters and repave cobblestones."
Mrs. Kateryna is indignant that the issue is not in the court itself, but in the trend. You are not managers of people's funds. You are just inhumans during the war."
She emphasized that no one on the ground pays attention even to the words of President Zelensky, who a month ago called on officials to stop and use budget resources fairly and correctly: "Paving, decorating cities, fountains will wait - victory first."
Given the dire situation, Nozhevnikova said that she plans to picket the Odesa City Council on Monday.
"On Monday, at 9 o'clock in the morning, I will stand near the local council. You can call the police, as they did in Kyiv, when a combat medic went to the same picket. But every day there will be more and more people like us... once again the government is trying to spit in the face of society for money. Guys who are now giving their lives at the front .. forgive us. "I have never been so ashamed of the city in which I was born," said Kateryna Nozhevnikova.
She also added that she hopes for support for her initiative in every city of Ukraine.
