The "Servant of the People" party decided to nominate Anatoliy Gunko for by-elections to the Verkhovna Rada in District 208. According to mass media, the decision was made today at the party congress.
In the last parliamentary elections, Gunko ran for People's Deputies in the neighboring 209th district from "Batkivshchyna", but lost. Now, the main competitor of the newly minted "servant" will be Oleg Lyashko, who was supported by "Batkivshchyna" and Yulia Tymoshenko personally.
We note that Gunko has a rather scandalous biography. In particular, he was associated with businessman Viktor Polishchuk, who is the owner of the shopping center "Gulliver", and was suspected of organizing a criminal group that illegally seized the state-owned enterprise "Radioperedayuschi tsentr".
Against the background of the above, Gunko looks like a purely technical candidate.
