A subsidiary of the German reinsurance company Munich RE announced on Tuesday that it would stop providing insurance services for the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline due to the threat of sanctions from the United States.
About it with reference to the company's statement Reuters reported.
"Munich Re Syndicate has notified the termination (insurance) of Nord Stream-2," the representative of the company told the agency, without providing other details.
Earlier, the Swiss company Zurich Insurance Group stopped providing insurance services subject to US sanctions in connection with the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline construction project.
