Baku accused Yerevan of a missile attack on the Azerbaijani exclave

The Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan announced a missile attack on the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic

The Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan announced that the Armenian military launched a missile attack on the territory of the Ordubad district of the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic.

— An operational-tactical missile, launched on October 15 at 10:44 by the Armed Forces of Armenia from the territory of the occupied Gubadly district, exploded on the territory of the Ordubad district of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. Peaceful residents and civilian objects were not injured, the message says.

In turn, the press secretary of the Minister of Defense of Armenia, Shushan Stepanyan, refutes this information and says that there was no missile strike.

— This is another lie of the military-political leadership of Azerbaijan, the purpose of which is to expand the geography of hostilities, — she noted.

Note that the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic is an exclave that is, in accordance with the Constitution of Azerbaijan and its own Constitution, an autonomous state within the Republic of Azerbaijan. It is separated from the rest of Azerbaijan by the territories of Armenia and the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh, where the main hostilities are taking place today.
