The vice-mayor of Odesa, Dmytro Zheman, reported that from September 21, a reversing lane will be introduced on the section of Lustdorfskaya road from Artilleryskaya Street to Breusa Street.
In his own words. this is due to the need for urgent repair work - the laying of a new power grid line that will connect the new Chubaevka substation with the power grid of the Chumka substation.
"Both substations will provide reliable electricity supply to more than 50 residents of the Malinovsky, Kyiv, and Primorsky districts," the Odessa City Hall said in a statement.
However, based on the experience of reversing traffic in the Suvorovsky district, it can be assumed that this area will experience huge traffic jams during "peak hours".
Note that this highway is one of the main roads connecting the Kyiv district of the city with the central part of Odessa and the railway station. Tens of thousands of Odessa residents from the sleepy districts and Cheremushek travel to work in the city center on this road every morning.
In addition, the fact that the city hall does not give even approximate terms of when the work will be completed is a cause for concern. It is also unknown whether traffic will then be restored according to the usual pattern.
