Kharkiv city head Gennady Kernes will be buried on the avenue of honor in one of the Kharkiv cemeteries. This was announced today, December 17, by the secretary of the Kharkiv City Council, Igor Terekhov, at a meeting on organizing a funeral.
"He will be buried on the main avenue. Where prominent Kharkiv residents are buried, the decision was made together with the family," Terekhov noted. At the same time, he did not specify which cemetery he was talking about.
At the same time, the exact date of the funeral has not yet been determined, but, according to Terekhov, it should happen exactly next week.
"Now I cannot name the exact date when we will organize the burials. But apparently, it's Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday next week at most," he said.
According to him, the funeral of Kernes will be held in the Annunciation Cathedral. And the farewell will be held in the Opera House, which will last about four hours.
