Investigators of the Kamenets-Podilskyi district police department opened criminal proceedings on the fact of the fall of a hot air balloon with people on board (Part 3 of Article 281 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). This was reported to the police of Khmelnytskyi region.
The tragedy occurred during the Balloon Festival on May 22 at around 20.45:XNUMX p.m. near the village of Kulchievtsi in the Kamenets-Podilskyi district. On board the balloon was a pilot and five passengers - two men from Khmelnytskyi, a couple from Pryluk and a resident of the Kamenets-Podolsky district.
As a result of the fall of the balloon, a 53-year-old resident of Pryluk died. His wife, other passengers, as well as the 28-year-old pilot, who is a resident of Kyiv, received injuries of varying severity and were hospitalized in medical facilities.
Investigators of the Kamenets-Podilskyi district police department started a pre-trial investigation under Part 3 of Article 281 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - "Violation of Air Flight Rules".
