Zelensky urgently appealed to Ukrainians and asked them not to panic

In connection with a possible invasion.

President Volodymyr Zelensky released a video appeal to the citizens of Ukraine on the evening of Wednesday, January 19, with an appeal not to panic in connection with possible Russian aggression.

"Now all the news and information space is full of similar messages about the war with Russia. About the fact that the invasion can begin tomorrow. And what, exactly, is the news? Hasn't this been a reality for eight years? Didn't the invasion start in 2014? Did the threat of war appear only now? These risks have existed for more than a day and now they have not become more, now there has been more excitement around them," said Zelensky.

The President asked the population not to panic and to critically evaluate information about a possible Russian invasion of Ukraine, "not to screw yourself up", "not to run for buckwheat and matches", "not to spread fakes and horror stories about the war".

In his opinion, Russia deliberately sows panic and uncertainty in Ukraine in order to weaken possible resistance and discourage business investors. Zelensky asked to preserve dignity and pride so as not to play along with aggressive intentions.

At the same time, he added that the authorities are closely cooperating with partners to resolve the situation diplomatically and strengthen the defense capabilities of the army.
