The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine can re-initiate a draft law with amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine, which will provide for the removal of the powers of a people's deputy for impersonal voting.
This was stated by the Speaker of the Parliament, Dmitry Razumkov, in an interview with the Rada TV channel and the Voice of Ukraine newspaper.
According to Razumkov, the law providing for criminal liability for impersonal voting does not work to the extent "in which we would like."
The head of the Verkhovna Rada noted that at the beginning of the term of the Verkhovna Rada of the XNUMXth convocation, people's deputies proposed a draft law with amendments to the Constitution, which provided only the mandate for "button coding".
"I think that this is absolutely correct. But, unfortunately, the Constitutional Court expressed the position that this does not correspond to the Constitution. I hope that we will apply to the Constitutional Court, taking into account the positions that were indicated to them, so that this issue could be considered," said Dmitry Razumkov.
Perhaps we will be able to make a decision before the end of this term: if a people's deputy is seen in such shameful phenomena, he should not be a people's deputy," the head of the parliament added.
He reminded that in connection with the possible fact of impersonal voting at one of the recent plenary sessions, the representatives of the factions and the leadership of the parliament agreed to prepare a bill on strengthening responsibility for "button-coding", to install additional video surveillance cameras in the meeting hall, and also to disconnect the place from the "Rada" system , which are not assigned to one people's deputy, but allow voting.
At the same time, he noted that there were few cases of impersonal voting in the parliament of the current convocation.
