The Verkhovna Rada has banned deputies and mayors from hiring relatives

Now deputies and all other civil servants will not be able to hire wives, husbands, brothers, sisters and other relatives

Deputies of the Verkhovna Rada adopted draft law No. 2203 "On Amendments to Some Legislative Acts of Ukraine Regarding Restrictions on Joint Work of Close Entities." This is reported on the website of the parliament.

The law regulates issues related to the limitation of joint work of close persons in the positions of assistants-consultants of deputies of all levels. 252 people's deputies voted for the draft law.

In particular, the law establishes that people's deputies of Ukraine, deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, deputies of local councils, village, township, and city heads cannot have persons close to them under direct authority or be directly subordinate in connection with the exercise of powers by persons close to them.

"Now deputies, like all other civil servants, will not be able to hire wives, husbands, brothers, sisters and other relatives. And it's fair," one of the authors of the bill, People's Deputy Viktoria Syumar, wrote on Facebook.
