After the statement of the so-called vice-premier of Crimea, Georgy Muradov, about the opening of a representative office of Nicaragua on the peninsula, Ukraine protested and began the sanctions process against this country. This is stated in the statement published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine on the site office.
The statement clarifies that the visit of the Nicaraguan ambassador to the Russian Federation, Alba Asusenna Torres, to Crimea to hand over a consular patent to Oleg Belaventsev, the "honorary consul of Nicaragua in the Russian Federation with a residence in Simferopol" was illegal and not agreed with Ukraine.
"The Ukrainian side has begun the process of applying sanction measures in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine and will continue to take all necessary actions provided for by the laws of Ukraine and the norms of international law to protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our state," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
The document notes that this visit to Crimea is a gross violation of the legislation of Ukraine and international law, in particular the resolutions of the UN General Assembly.
"This action is considered insignificant by our state and is considered a frankly unfriendly step on the part of Nicaragua towards Ukraine, which contributes to the aggression of the Russian Federation and its demand for the annexation of an integral part of the territory of Ukraine, which includes the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol," the message says.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reminded that in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine, the entry of foreigners and stateless persons into the temporarily occupied territory and exit from it is carried out through the territory of Ukraine, and any bodies, their officials and officials in the temporarily occupied territory and their activities are considered illegal if they are created, elected or appointed in a manner not provided for by the legislation of Ukraine.
The statement notes that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has repeatedly warned Nicaragua about the inadmissibility of actions that violate the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the state.
Note that Nicaragua is a small country in Central America, washed on both sides by the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea.
