In Odesa, another attack took place on the office of OO "LGBT Association "Liga". This was reported by the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Lyudmila Denisova.
Unknown people plastered the office of a public organization with homophobic leaflets. Denisova noted that this is not the first time that the activity of this organization has been hindered, and she appealed to the leadership of the National Police to provide information on entering the summary of pre-trial investigations on this fact into the Unified Register, conducted investigative actions and adopted procedural decisions.
The ombudsman emphasized the strict observance and implementation of the legislation. In particular, Articles 24 and 68 of the Constitution of Ukraine, Article 7 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Article 14 of the Convention on the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms and Protocol No. 12 to the Convention, which prohibit discrimination on any grounds, as well as the obligation of the state to accept all possible measures to prevent and counteract this phenomenon.
"The LGBT community is one of the most vulnerable categories of citizens who are constantly under pressure and discriminated against, so the issue of observing the rights of the LGBT community is under my control," Denisova summarized.
