On March 17, 2021, new fines for violating traffic rules came into force. Igor Shavrov, a well-known lawyer who manages the Shavrov and Partners law firm, told the "ElitExpert" agency about the features of the newly introduced product.
In particular, the fine for leaving the scene of an accident was increased to UAH 3. with the possibility of revocation of driver's license from the 400st year to the 1nd year. A similar fine will be applied for speeding in the city limits.
If the driver was deprived of his driving license, but got behind the wheel, he will be obliged to pay a fine of UAH 20.
Fines for driving while intoxicated have become tougher. Yes, for the first violation - 17 UAH, for the second - 000 UAH, and for the third - 34 UAH.
In the first two cases, it may also result in suspension of driver's license from 1 year to several years, and in the third case - for 10 years.
In addition, as noted by Igor Shavrov, the term of administrative responsibility for driving while intoxicated has been increased from 3 months from the moment of detection to 1 year.
Regarding criminal responsibility, here the offender cannot be exempted from criminal responsibility. A conditional term cannot be applied to him, only a real one. And only after 2/3 of the term has been served, such a term can be replaced by a conditional term.
"Another of the newly introduced - now any road traffic participant can register an offense on a mobile phone. Such materials can become a question for drawing up an administrative protocol if they are handed over to the Patrol Police," said Igor Shavrov.
Also, a fine of 255 hryvnias is imposed on a pedestrian for crossing in the wrong place. For violation of traffic rules by a cyclist, the fine is 340 hryvnias, if he was drunk, then 680 hryvnias.
"In addition, previously, if a driver who was deprived of a driver's license got behind the wheel, the fine for such a violation was only 510 hryvnias. Now this amount has increased to 20 thousand hryvnias, the lawyer noted. - Do not violate traffic rules! Take care of yourself and your loved ones!"
