The most expensive New Year's celebration will be for the residents of Odessa and Zaporozhye - the authorities of these cities allocated more than 10 million hryvnias for the festivities.
Odessa took the first place in terms of costs. Local authorities spent 12,7 million hryvnias on the celebrations.
The second and third places went to Zaporozhye and Vinnytsia - they raked in 10,5 and 7 million.
The New Year's celebration in Odessa and Zaporozhye will cost 12-14 hryvnias per resident.
Kyiv is playing more modestly this year - they spent 5,26 million. But this is thanks to sponsorship in the amount of more than 25 million.
And Lviv and Ternopil turned out to be the most economical - their expenses amounted to only 199 and 242 thousand hryvnias.
The main items of New Year's expenses: gifts for children, installation of Christmas trees, organization of festive events, decorations and arrangement of photo booths.
