Hundreds of roads in Ukraine are paralyzed due to heavy snowfall: list

The National Police advise drivers not to drive.

Today, February 8, traffic is restricted on many of the country's highways due to difficult weather conditions. This was reported in Ukravtodor.

Heavy snowfall is observed in 18 regions, with up to 15 cm of snow in some places. According to forecasters, it will snow with rain in the southern regions. Such weather will last during the day.

"On February 8, snow of moderate intensity occurred in the Vinnytsia, Volyn, Zhytomyr, Lviv, Rivne, Ternopil, Khmelnytskyi, Kyiv, and Cherkasy regions, where 3 to 15 cm of snow fell during the night," the message says.

Snow falls less intensively in the north of Odesa Oblast, as well as in Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporozhye, Kirovohrad, Poltava, Chernivtsi, Kherson, and Kharkiv Oblasts.

The average air temperature in most of the country is -7 -13 °C, in Chernihiv and Sumy -12 -18 °C, and in the Odesa region the spread is even greater: from -10 + 4 °C.

The condition of the state highways in most regions is covered with snow, in the southern regions there is ice.

It is raining on the pass sections of the roads in Zakarpattia and Lviv regions. The road surface is wet, in the Ivano-Frankivsk region on the Vyshkov pass - snow-covered.

The highway service in the Lviv region has imposed restrictions on road traffic until 22:00 p.m. on February 8 on state highways:

  • M-06 Kyiv – Chop km 432 + 877 – km 622 + 256 m;
  • M-10 Lviv – Krakovets, km 7 993 – 69 + 961;
  • M-11 Lviv – Shegyny, km 9 + 128 – 80 + 761;
  • M-09 Ternopil – Lviv – Rava-Russkaya, km 129 + 807 – 191 + 877;
  • Western bypass of the city of Lviv, km 0 +000 – 15 + 010;
  • Entrance to the city of Lviv, km 0 +000 – 5 + 694;
  • H-09 Mukachevo – Lviv, km 395 + 332 – 439 + 545;
  • H-17 Lviv – Lutsk, km 0 +000 – 69 + 434;
  • R-15 Kovel – Zhovkva, km 89-114, 122-159.

1530 units of equipment and 1858 workers are involved in the work of road organizations to ensure travel on roads of state importance.

The National Police advise drivers not to leave, and drivers of heavy-duty vehicles are advised to use parking lots.
