Zelensky can take part in the G7 summit, which will be held on May 19-21 in Hiroshima

Japan, as the country-head of the Group of Seven, wants to create conditions for intensive discussions about Russia's war against Ukraine

Prime Minister of Japan Kishida Fumio intends to invite the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi to participate online in the G7 summit, which will be held on May 19-21 in Hiroshima.

It is noted that Japan, as the country-head of the Group of Seven, wants to create conditions for intensive discussions on Russia's war against Ukraine. Zelenskyi's speech will introduce the leaders of the "seven" to the current situation.

The Prime Minister of Japan wants to discuss the issues of food and energy security that arose as a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, writes Nikkei.

Such discussions are an important step against the background of a possible conflict in Taiwan, the media reports. Since the country may be involved in it, it is counting on a quick and tough response from China, the United States and Europe, as was done in relation to the Russian Federation.

In addition to Ukraine, it is planned to invite Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who chairs the G7 this year, and Indonesian President Joko Widodo to participate in the G20 summit.
