The case of the "smuggling king" Vadym Alperin was closed using Lozovoy's amendments, transmits "Center for anti-corruption". In particular, the defense filed a motion to close the case and apply scandalous amendments, because the investigation period was allegedly extended by an unauthorized entity.
The CPC noted that the decision was made by the judges of the High Anti-Corruption Court Oleksiy Kravchuk, Yevhen Kruk and Inna Bilous. The full text should be announced on October 17.
"There is already a tendency to close cases using Lozovoy's amendments." We have already seen similar actions in the Kolomoisky and Rotterdam+ cases. There may be dozens, if not hundreds, of cases in the queue. Some of them have been heard in courts for 3-4 years, and the judges did not have any questions before the deadlines," the Anti-Corruption Center noted.
They recalled that in February, the presiding judge in the Alperin case, Oleksiy Kravchuk, announced threats to judges. Then, because of this, they even registered a criminal case.
Law enforcement officers finished investigating the case in November 2020. The High Anti-Corruption Court received this proceeding in August 2022. Five months later, the judges suddenly decided that the case was not under the jurisdiction of the VACS and appealed to the court to transfer the case to another court. However, the appeal was then rejected. It should be noted that within the framework of the same case, the Appeals Chamber of VAX charged the "king of smuggling" Alperin 35 million hryvnias, as he violated the obligations imposed by the court.
It should be noted that due to the "editing of Lozovoy" it took several days closed another one scandalous case - "Rotteram+".
We will remind that the businessman Vadym Alperin is accused of creating a criminal organization that, through fraud, illegally imported goods into Ukraine. According to the investigation, the losses amounted to more than UAH 77,7 million.
