The Ministry of Social Policy has developed a draft law that will limit the payment of pensions to certain categories of Ukrainians.
The Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine plans to deprive pensioners of persons who have committed a crime against the foundations of national security. The relevant draft law is published on the website ministry .
The Ministry of Social Policy proposes to make changes to the Criminal Executive Code, as well as to the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine regarding the procedure for paying pensions to persons who have committed crimes against the country's national security.
The draft law proposes to stop paying pensions to persons sentenced to imprisonment or restriction of liberty for:
- actions aimed at violent change or overthrow of the constitutional order or seizure of state power (Article 109 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine);
- encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine (Article 110 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine);
- treason (Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine);
- collaborationist activity (parts three to eight of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
"As an additional means of comprehensively solving this problem, it is proposed to apply the suspension of pension payments to persons sentenced to restriction or deprivation of liberty for committing a criminal offense against the national security of Ukraine. By suspending pension payments to persons convicted of criminal offenses against the national security of Ukraine, the state will express a negative assessment of the actions taken against it, as well as a condemnation of Ukrainian society, which defends its independence and freedom," the explanatory note says.
Comments and proposals on the draft law to the Ministry of Social Policy are accepted until February 16 of the current year.
It was previously reported that a resident of the village of Novooleksandrivka, Kherson region, was sentenced to five years in prison for active participation in the "referendum" on the region's accession to Russia.
Before that, it became known that the teacher of the Kyiv gymnasium will be tried for supporting the Russian Federation in social networks.
Also, the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office approved and sent to the court an indictment against the director of an educational institution in the village of Andriyivka, Kupyan district, on charges of collaborative activity.
We will remind, the ODP reported that after the invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Armed Forces in February 2022, as of September 13, more than 15 crimes against national security were recorded.
