The Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Political Repression is celebrated in Ukraine every year on the third Sunday of May. On the occasion of the commemorative date, flowers were laid at the mass grave of the victims of political repressions on the territory of the II Christian Cemetery of the city of Odessa.
The event was attended by the first deputy head of the Odesa OV Borys Voloshenkov, the first deputy head of the Odesa Regional Council Oleg Radkovskii, the secretary of the Odesa City Council Ihor Koval and representatives of public organizations.
"At that terrible time, we lost the best representatives of the intelligentsia, science and culture of the country - the color of our nation. Today, Ukraine is once again fighting for its future, independence and integrity. And we will definitely win!", said those present.
