The Ukrainian defense industry has grown sixfold in 2023. More than half of these capacities are already contracted. This was announced by Oleksandr Kamyshin, Minister of Strategic Industry forum "Ukraine. The year is 2024."
"Last year, our defense industry produced three times more than in 2022. Our capacity for 2023 is six times larger than last year. We have about half of this capacity contracted for 2024. We are working together with the Ministry of Defense, the Defense Forces on further contracting." - said the minister.
He noted that in general, the Ukrainian defense industry consists of 500 enterprises that work on the design, repair, production and maintenance of everything that works for the Ukrainian army. According to Kamyshin, these are about 400 private companies and 100 state-owned.
The Minister of Strategic Industries added that last year Ukraine increased the production of ammunition, and new positions began to appear. This year, Ukraine is also increasing the production of projectiles.
