Ukraine

Ukraine took second place in the annual World Charity Index, which makes up international charitable organization Charities Aid Foundation with the support of research company Gallup.

Indonesia became the leader of the rating for the sixth year in a row, Ukraine took the second place, rising immediately by 13 points. Kenya, Liberia, USA, Myanmar, Kuwait, Canada, Nigeria and New Zealand are also in the top ten of the rating. Five years ago, Ukraine was in 81st place, and in 2021 - in 20th place.

"Charity in Ukraine has grown significantly. Ukraine has also demonstrated exceptional responsiveness and responsibility in times of crisis, especially in the face of a full-scale Russian invasion. These wonderful changes can emphasize the resilience, compassion and unwavering commitment of Ukrainians to support those in need, and put Ukraine at the forefront of the world's philanthropic scene." - said the report.

The compilers of the rating noted that the level of private philanthropy in the world is increasing — this trend began even during the pandemic. In 2022, 72% of the adult population of the planet helped strangers in one way or another at least once.
