Turkey will be ready to review Sweden's bid to join NATO after June 1, when anti-terror laws come into effect in Stockholm.
It is said in statement of the adviser to the Turkish president on foreign policy, Ibrahim Kalin, which is reported by NTV.
"From our point of view, there are no obstacles to Finland's membership in NATO. Finland has always been constructive," the statement said.
Kalin noted that Finland has taken a more transparent and constructive position regarding Turkish demands. As a result of the Turkish assessment of the country, it was deemed appropriate to approve Finland's application for NATO membership.
"The door to Sweden is not completely closed. Sweden's anti-terrorism law will enter into force on June 1. Once they have completed this, we will evaluate the process to see that steps have been taken to address our security concerns. We are not against the expansion of NATO in principle," explained the adviser to the Turkish president on foreign policy.
