A powerful explosion rang out today on the main pedestrian street in the historic center of Istanbul - Istiklal. Local media reported at least 11 casualties.
According to preliminary information, the explosion occurred on the pedestrian tourist street Istiklal. Apparently, the bomb was detonated by a suicide bomber.
Dozens of ambulances were sent to the center of Istanbul after the explosion, the area is surrounded.
Local media reported that up to four people were killed and 38 were injured.
The reasons for the event are still unknown.
