The court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention for the suspect. After his arrest and delivery to the place of pre-trial investigation, the investigating judge will decide on the application of this preventive measure, the message says. Currently, according to mass media, Mr. Kostusev is abroad.
At the end of August, NABU and SAP announced the discovery of a criminal group that took possession of property of Odessa airport worth UAH 118 million and income from its activities during 2012-2022 in the amount of more than UAH 2,5 billion. In October, NABU declared Kostusev wanted.
In addition to Kostusev, the suspects include his former deputy, businessmen Boris Kaufman and Alex Borukhovich (formerly Oleksandr Granovskyi), as well as Oleksiy Kochanov, director of Odesa Airport Development. Kaufman and Borukhovich control 75% of Odesa International Airport. The property of Odesa airport was seized by VAKS in October.
Oleksiy Kostusev was the mayor of Odesa from 2010 to 2013. He headed the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine first under President Leonid Kuchma, and then under Yanukovych. Member of the Party of Regions, People's Deputy of Ukraine for several convocations.
